MAN MAN released a new album “Life Fantastic” on May 10. I have read some reviews that say it’s not the bands best or that they have moved away from the classic MAN MAN sound. I read on one blog that it took a step back from 2008’s “rabbit habbits”. Mike Mogis (Monsters of Folk member/Saddle Creek house producer) was asked to aid in recording of the album. According to a press release from band leader Honus Honus (AKA Ryan Kattner), Mogis largely was there to tell them when things were getting to be “a bit too much.” I actually like this album and have no problem with bands “not giving us with they have in the past” as another review suggested, as long as they are consistent. MAN MAN if you ever get the chance…see them live, Honus Honus’s vocals are more than just talent, he will be around for a long time.
